REJECTION AND DEMAND FOR STOPPING SEA SAND MININIG ACTIVITIES BY PT ROYAL BOSKALIS IN FISHERMEN’S FISHING GROUND

ATTITUDE STATEMENT

We, all Kodingareng Island people (fishermen, women, fish traders, traders, cake sellers and youth) together with all those who support struggle of all Kodingareng Island people, such as WALHI, FNKSDA Makassar, FPPI, JATAM, KIARA, Solidaritas Perempuan AM, LAPAR  South Sulawesi,  KontraS , KruHa, and  all civil society organizations  that are members of the Coastal Community Alliance and the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation- LBH Makassar, here by state:

1.   Reject all sea sand mining projects in fishermen’s fishing grounds (Copong Lompo, Copong keke, Bone Ma’lonjo, Bone Lure, Bone Pama, Sangkarrang, Batu Ila, Lalo Angkan, Bone Luara, Bone Pute, Gossea, Ponto-Pontoang, Garasa Pamalu, Bone Lengga, Bone Pute Rate, Bone Pinjeng, Bone Kaluku, Kapodasan, Lambe-Lambere, Batu La’bua, and Pariyama), and insist PT. Royal Boskalis to immediately stop all sea sand mining activities in fishermen’s fishing grounds, in Spermonde Islands waters (Copong Lompo, Copong keke, Bone Ma’lonjo, Bone Lure, Bone Pama, Sangkarrang, Batu Ila, Lalo Angkan, Bone Luara, Bone Pute, Gossea, Ponto- Pontoang,  Garasa  Pamalu,  Bone  Lengga,  Bone Pute  Rate,  Bone  Pinjeng,  Bone Kaluku, Kapodasan, Lambe-Lambere, Batu La’bua, and Pariyama).

2.   Insisting  PT.  Royal  Boskalis,  PT.  Pembangunan  Perumahan,  PT.  Alefu  KaryaMakmur and PT. Banteng Laut Indonesia to take responsibility and restore all suffering, material and non-material losses experienced by Kodingareng Island people during the operation of sea sand mining project carried out by PT. Royal Boskalis in fishermen’s fishing ground (Copong Lompo, Copong keke, Bone Ma’lonjo, Bone Lure, Bone Pama, Sangkarrang, Batu Ila, Lalo Angkan, Bone Luara, Bone Pute, Gossea, Ponto-Pontoang, Garasa Pamalu, Bone Lengga, Bone Pute Rate, Bone Pinjeng, Bone Kaluku, Kapodasan, Lambe-Lambere, Batu La’bua, and Pariyama), without exception.

3.   Insisting the Dutch Government in this case the Ambassador of Kingdom of the Netherlands for Indonesia to fulfill its extraterritorial obligations to monitor all activities of PT. Royal Boskalisis mainly related to human rights violations and the use of military and police institutions as well as thugs (In Indonesia, we call it preman) to face fishermen, women and Kodingareng Island society’s aspiration. As well as insisting PT. Royal Boskalis to stop all sea sand mining activities in fishermen’s fishing ground (Copong Lompo, Copong keke, Bone Ma’lonjo, Bone Lure, Bone Pama, Sangkarrang, Batu Ila, Lalo Angkan, Bone Luara, Bone Pute, Gossea,  Ponto-Pontoang, Garasa  Pamalu,  Bone  Lengga,  Bone  Pute  Rate,  Bone Pinjeng, Bone Kaluku, Kapodasan, Lambe-Lambere, Batu La’bua, and Pariyama).

4.   Insisting  the  Governor  of  South  Sulawesi  to  immediately  revoke  all  mining business permits in fishermen’s fishing grounds (Copong Lompo, Copong keke, Bone Ma’lonjo, Bone Lure, Bone Pama, Sangkarrang, Batu Ila, Lalo Angkan, Bone Luara, Bone Pute, Gossea, Ponto-Pontoang, Garasa Pamalu, Bone Lengga, Bone Pute Rate, Bone Pinjeng, Bone Kaluku, Kapodasan, Lambe-Lambere, Batu La’bua, and Pariyama).

5.   Insisting  the  Governor  of  South  Sulawesi  to  immediately  revise  the  local regulation on RZWP3K (Coastal Zone and Small Islands Zoning Plan) and remove sea sand mining zones in fishermen’s fishing ground (Copong Lompo, Copong keke, Bone Ma’lonjo, Bone Lure, Bone Pama, Sangkarrang, Batu Ila, Lalo Angkan, Bone Luara, Bone Pute, Gossea, Ponto-Pontoang, Garasa Pamalu, Bone Lengga, Bone Pute Rate, Bone Pinjeng, Bone Kaluku, Kapodasan, Lambe-Lambere, Batu La’bua, and Pariyama) in Spermonde area.

This attitude statement is attitude and desire of all fishermen, women and Kodingareng Island society. This attitude statement is also fishermen meeting (musyawarah) result to be conveyed to related parties.

Thus, this attitude statement is made to serve as a guideline for all parties, especially for government and companies.
